Couch to 5k

Week 2 of our Couch to 5k saw more newcomers join us for this progressive running programme. We still have 8 more weeks to go and to date have done 8 x 90s running intervals. Not too late to join in!

Juvenile Academy

U5

Well done to our smaller group of under 5s who were able to come to our penultimate session. We were delighted that some of the older under 5s took the opportunity to play in Austin Stacks Park with the under 7s. We had a short session with skills, fun and match play and Darragh and Carly Anne were rewarded with trophies for their efforts.

We enjoyed supporting the older girls and boys and watching the match play in the Parish League matches.

Looking forward to a positive end to the season with a big attendance next Sunday morning.

U7 Boys

Garda Aidan O Mahony from the Community Policing Unit at Tralee Garda Station organised a visit for St. Pats Blennerville Under 7’s Gaelic Football Team to Austin Stack Park, Tralee this morning.

These kids then had the amazing experience to play in Austin Stack Park.

Some sound words of advice were given from Garda Aidan about teamwork before they set out to play.

This was a fantastic experience for these kids and who knows, the next time they might be wearing the green and gold. The U7 Coaches were impressed by the excitement and enthusiasm shown by the U7’s Boys. A big thank you to Ollie for organising it and Brendan for taking a team and all the parents for the support (especially Mary who sorted out the order in McDonald’s after!)

U9 Boys

Our Parish Leagues 2023 took place this Sunday morning with our 4 teams “Dingle Way” – The West – The Bridge and Windmill from our u9 and u11 boys contesting games. Round 1 saw Dingle take on Windmill and The West played The Bridge. After 2 exciting games we had Round 2 where we saw Dingle v The West and The Bridge V Windmill. All teams showed great skill and teamwork. We look forward to Round 3 and our Shield and Cup finals next Sunday.

U8/U10 Girls

Well done to all our U8 / U10 Girls for their huge effort in making last Sunday’s parish league a success, some very impressive performances and great teamwork was on show. After rounds 1 and 2 the West and Sharon lead with an impressive two wins from 2 followed by The Windmill with one win and one draw, still all to play for next week to get to the finals!

U11

St Pats U-11’s were away v Annascaul last Thursday evening. All our players performed brilliantly. Due to a shortage of numbers available on the night, we could only play one game. It turned out to be a very enjoyable, with our boys on top in the first half and our hosts controlling the second half. Our boys got some fine scores and defended well again this week.

We are due to be at home v An Ghaeltacht next Thursday evening in the final round of the West Kerry District games so let’s try to have good numbers for our last game of the season. The details of this match will be circulated to parents shortly. Naomh Pádraig Abú!!

U12 Girls

The U12 Girls took part in a blitz last Sunday afternoon in Abbeydorney. The girls did fantastically and won their three games that they played and were very unfortunate to lose out in the final. It could have been anyone’s game so you should all be so proud of yourselves. The girls all played outstanding and never gave up to the bitter end. Keep the heads up and as the saying goes you win some, you lose some.

Also, a huge well done to Meaghan for winning the player of the tournament trophy. I think we will agree it was well deserved.

U14 Girls

The U14 Girls played their 2nd match in the North Kerry league on Tuesday evening last against John Mitchels B team. The girls got off to a shaky start with the opposition gaining most of the scores in the 1st half. The St. Pats Girls came back hungry in the final quarter, scoring 2 fantastic goals and really putting opposition under pressure. However, the time wasn’t on our side and the game finished in Mitchels’ favour. The 3rd game will be at home on Oct 8th at 12.30pm

St Brendan’s Board

St Brendan’s Board played last Saturday 30th in the Garvey’s Supervalu Senior Football County Championship against Dr. Crokes; the opposition proved too strong on the day and came out winners.

Senior B’s

Our seniors were to play in the Kerry Cup Shield against Brosna in Brosna last Saturday, this match did not go ahead.
