50 Years of Memories

We are currently trying to source old photos from the club also including memorabilia from events, matches, programmes, newsletters etc.

The time frame we are focusing on is from 1973 onwards before everyone had a camera at hand! If anyone has any items that they would like to share with us, we would greatly appreciate anything of interest as we are trying to create a collage of memories from the past 50 years of our fantastic club.

Thanking you in advance. Any items can be emailed to pro.stpatricksblennerville.kerry@gaa.ie or for collection of items Sharon 0879712665, Irene 0871233254

Couch to 5k

Week 3 of our Couch to 5k saw our group continue to improve, each week allows runners to increase their endurance in a safe environment, join us for this progressive running programme. We still have 7 more weeks to go, not too late to join in!

Juvenile Academy

The curtain came down today on our 2023 Football Academy. Well done to all our boys and girls and thanks to all our parents for supporting us all year.

It was a busy end of season day as we also had the Shield and Cup Finals of our very popular Parish Leagues. This year we were delighted to also host our inaugural Parish League for our u8 and u10 girls.

After the team photos were taken our day started off with a parade led by the fantastic Piper Leanne McCarthy where our boys and girls proudly paraded around the pitch marking the beginning of our finals.

We were treated to an exhibition of football with 4 great finals, displaying the fantastic football skills the kids have picked up and improved on, making the year worthwhile for the proud coaches.

Our girls Shield competition was won by The Dingle Way and the Cup final winners were The West. Our boy’s Shield was won by The Bridge and The West did the double by winning the boys Cup Final also.

Our u5’s and u7’s did a great job cheering on all at the parade and waving their red and white flags.

Thanks as always to Marie, Fiona, Sean, Irene, Sharon, Johnny for all the help on the day, to Fiacc for the great photos and to all our dedicated coaches for their efforts throughout the year, our referees Tom and George and Tony and Maurice for looking after the parking. We are taking a break now and will return for more football in February 2024.

U5

Well done St Pats Under 5s!

As we finish up the 2023 season, I want to thank all the players and parents for turning up whatever the weather, thanks to all our coaches, Aiden, Johnathon, Anthony (special mention to him today!) and Ruth who’s busy on the stage.

We’d love for more parents of the younger crew to get involved next year to help us out and join the fun! Please let Fiona know if you can help out.

Well done to all the boys and girls who had fun with Foxy and who got their medals and certificates from Kerry heroes Jack Barry and Stephan Okunbar. Hopefully they will inspire them to keep training and practice!

Back to indoor football at the MTU in February 2024 bring your friends and neighbours along. For now, enjoy your Sunday mornings, keep up the movement, fitness, and skills!

Gooooo St Pats!!!

U11

St Pats U-11’s were at home v An Ghaeltacht last Thursday evening. It was no surprise that the west Kerry boys adapted better to the blustery conditions and gave a great display of football which our players found hard to match on the night.

Our boys kept going to the final whistle and that was brilliant to see. So, this game was our last outing for this year and as the curtain falls on our season, the coaches Mike, Brian, Fiacc & Johnny would like to thank all our u-11 and u-9 players who played and trained with us during the year.

Our u11’s are a fantastic bunch of footballers and if they keep playing and improving their skills the future of our club will be something to really look forward to.

The coaches would also like to thank the parents of all our players, our chairman Michael, secretary Rosalie and our Juvenile PRO Irene for all their help during the year. Stay safe and see ye all fit and well in 2024… Naomh Pádraig Abú!!

U12 Girls

The U12 Girls will finish up for this year with a match against the boys on Tuesday evening at 6.30. We will also be having an awards night in the coming weeks to present you all with your county league medals, details to follow regarding same.

U13 Boys

Our U13 boys will have their last get together of the season with a game against the u14 girls this Tuesday. All players to be there for 6:15pm for a 6:30pm throw in.

U14 Girls

The U14 girls played their 3rd match in the North Kerry league on a balmy Sunday afternoon at home against Finuge/St. Senan’s. It was far from balmy on the pitch with a nail-biting game for the spectators and coaches!

Both teams gave it their all-fighting tooth and nail for every ball! However, it was the St. Pats girls with their great heart and determination that were victorious with a mere point win.

The girls have now reached a final, details to follow. In the meantime, we will play the U13 boys on Tuesday at 6.30 for a fun challenge match!!

Well done to the U13 Girls Niamh Murphy, Eve O Sullivan, Sarah Greaney, Chloe Passway and Coach Therese Greaney who were part of the U13 West Kerry girls’ team who beat St Kieran’s in Annascaul on Saturday last.

Congratulations

To Niamh Daly, Elaine Kinsella and Alan Finn who won Gold in the IMRO Radio Awards in the Short Feature ‘Heritage Hunters’ on Saturday Night last.

To Tim Moynihan who won Sports Broadcaster of the Year in the Local/Regional Category also on Saturday Night at IMRO Radio Awards.
