Juvenile Academy
Our young stars from U6 – U10 returned to training last Sunday at Presentation Hall after a long hibernation over the winter. U6 and U8’s trained from 10am to 11am and the U10’s from 11am to 12 noon. The attendance was very encouraging and all kids showed a very positive and enthusiastic start to the year. All new players and families are particularly welcome
U6: Well done to Rachel Colivet, Harry Maguire, Jace and Rylan Flynn who put in a great training session last Sunday morning but a huge well done to Dylan Passway who was the first player of the week for 2017 by showing great skill and determination. Keep up the good work.
U8: The under 8’s showed no sign of having overindulged during the Christmas break as they returned with great gusto to the first academy session of 2017. It was great to see the enthusiasm displayed as they all participated in the drills and games. Many of the young players were looking resplendent in their new club gear. A special word of welcome to those who joined with the under 8’s having graduated from the under 6 group: Aoife Kennedy, James Daly, Chloe Passway, Niamh Murphy and Ben Deegan. One to watch for the future is Eddie Hayes who because of his wholehearted effort was awarded the player of the week trophy, so well done Eddie. Academy continues next Sunday in Presentation School Gym from 10am to 11 am for the under 8’s.
U10: The St. Pats under 10’s Boys & Girls returned to academy action last Sunday after the winter break. We had a good turnout at training in the Pres Hall. Everyone put in a great effort practicing their skills at training with Grainne Breen, Jack Costello, Killian O’Mahony and Kayla O’Connor giving it their all during the session. Congratulations to Rory Daly for winning the player of the week award. It is important that ye all keep practicing yer skills at home during the week. We hope to see ye all at training Sunday at 11am in the Pres Hall, Moyderwell Tralee.

Congratulations to all cyclists that took part in the Jimmy Duffy Memorial Cycle. Approximately 130 cyclists took part, including many locals. All proceeds will be going to the Red Cross.
A huge thank you to Tom Quane of Quane’s Bar for providing refreshments following the cycle, the volunteers on the day and to all the talented musicians that provided a great night’s entertainment at Quane’s Bar.
Medal Presentation
We were privileged to have Kerry Senior and All Star forward, Paul Geaney with us in The Station House last Monday to present County League medals to members of our victorious U16 team, who won the Division 5 title last November.
Paul gave an inspirational talk on club values and the importance of practicing skills at that level and afterwards spent time lining for photos with players and parents and offering words of encouragement to all.
It was great to learn from such a great footballer who has won accolades with his college and at Inter-County level. Many thanks to The Station House for hosting this event.
