Organised by Karen Twamley whose son Harry (2) has Cystic Fibrosis, it promises to be a fantastic night out and a boom for the babysitting trade. Kieran Donaghy was on hand to launch the night and hopes everyone supports the great cause.

Mary McQuinn and Orlagh Winters came up with the idea a number of months ago for something new, due to the amount of people asking about an alternative venue to mix with people their own age and now the concept is now coming to fruition.

Festive cocktails and treats will be available on the night to help all those attending get into the Christmas Spirit.

Tickets are selling fast and are available at Benners Hotel for €10. Doors are open at 11pm.

The cafe was serving a full menu when we visited this morning and the reception area looks very cool indeed. In a nice link to the past, the cafe even has the old Benners clock dating back to the early 20th century hanging over the fireplace.

By the weekend, up to 30 people will be working in the new venture by Der O’Sullivan of The Mall. The new bar is set to open to the public tonight at around 7pm while Benners Courtyard Bar, will open shortly featuring alfresco entertainment and much, much more.

A nice coat of paint has spruced up Benner’s Hotel in the past few weeks. It is hoped the hotel will be open by the end of the month.

SPRING is really bringing a sense of optimism to Tralee businesses this year, with a number of new ventures opening in the near future.

The Ashe Hotel (old Abbey Gate) starts business on Thursday, a nightclub is opening at the old Fabric building in May sometime and we’ve been told Benner’s Hotel is aiming to be open by the end of April.

Total Cleaning NEW INSERT

Der O’Sullivan of the delicatessen and The Mall Tavern, who is reopening the hotel, told TraleeToday.ie on Saturday that work is progressing nicely now and the hope is to be open “three weeks from this weekend, all going to plan”.

The 45-bedroomed hotel, which got a nice coat of paint recently, is to create up to 50 jobs which is great for Tralee.

It should be a great summer for people looking to night out around town.
