THERE’S no let up in the weather this week which is bad news for those attending Kelloggs Cúl Camps around the county.

Despite the rain, kids are still having fun as could be seen out in Blennerville where the St Pats GAA Cúl Camp was taking place.

Over 120 youngsters were registered for the camp and were in high spirits when we called on Thursday. Tom Joy and his team of coaches had them going through drills and learning skills during another fun week of football. Scroll down for photos…

CÚL Camps took place in the town’s GAA clubs all week with hundreds of youngsters learning new skills and perfecting old ones in a fun environment.

At John Mitchels GAA complex in Ballyseedy, there were over 110 children registered to take part, while a similar number converged on Na Gaeil GAA grounds in Killeen.

The kids were well trained by young coaches at both venues and while the weather wasn’t ideal at times during the week, the enthusiasm of youth shone through when we visited for some photos…

WHO needs fine weather when you’re having this much fun?

The Austin Stacks Cúl Camp is taking place all week at Connolly Park and there was a great atmosphere when we paid a visit on Thursday morning.

Over 100 children from Under 6s up to Under 13s braved the drizzle to enjoy games and skills challenges overseen by friendly and knowledgeable coaches.

The final day of the camp is tomorrow, but no doubt most of the kids will be back for the club’s own camp from August 3 to August 6. Scroll down for photos…

SCHOOL may be out for summer, but a different kind of learning is going on at Kerins O’Rahillys club grounds this week.

Over 100 kids of varying ages are converging on the Strand Road club each morning at the annual Kellogs Cúl Camp.

Most of the participants are from the club with a few ‘outsiders’ also taking part. The weather has been a mixed bag so far, but a little drizzle isn’t dampening the mood as new skills are learnt from the attentive coaches. Scroll down for photos…

OVER 70 boys and girls took part in the GAA Cúl Camp in Kerins O’Rahillys over this week.

Young footballers between the ages of 6 and 12 honed their skills at the camp where the kids learned the basics of the games with the standard high among many of the participants.

The week presents an ideal chance for young kids to get active and make good use of their summer holidays.

The number of participants is up about 30 on last year, so the conveyor belt of young talent coming through Strand Road doesn’t look like it will be stopping anytime soon. Scroll down for photos…

Photos: Churchill GAA Stars Of The Future At Cúl Camp

THIS week Churchill GAA are holding their annual summer Gaelic Football Cúl Camp for boys and girls in the U6, U8, U10 and U12 age groups.

The summer camp is taking place in Churchill GAA grounds and runs from Monday to Friday.

“It’s been going great,” said camp co-coordinator John Griffin.  “We’ve over 50 or 60 kids enjoying themselves we’ve been lucky with the weather as well. The coaches have been very enthusiastic and the kids got their kits yesterday so they are delighted today.”

“We’ve been putting an emphasis on the basic skills of football, we’ve had plenty of fun games. At the end of the day their parents are paying money for them to be here so it’s very important that they are learning and improving their skills,” said John.

“It’s great to see kids who mightn’t be involved with a club playing football and making new friends,”  he added.
