Local Fashion And Beauty Experts To Feature Regularly On New RTE Morning Show

TWO local beauty and fashion experts will be on our TV screens every morning on a new style programme.

Well known beauty expert Mary O’Donnell from Tralee and fashionista Orla Diffily, based in Firies, will each have a slot on ‘Life N Style’ which will air every morning from Monday, September 4 on RTE 1 at 8.30am.

Presented by make-up expert, Mark Roberts, the show will be a 40 minute lifestyle show featuring fashion, beauty and more. The show will be repeated every morning at 8.30am (7.30am on weekends) with a new show every two weeks.

This will be great exposure for Tralee and the two women who already feature regularly on the RTE ‘Today’ show with Daithi O Se and Maura Derrane for the past number of years.

Mary O’Donnell also has ‘The Beauty Spot’ segment on Radio Kerry’s ‘Talkabout’ show and has over 52,000 Facebook followers to her page.

Orla Diffily is originally from Dublin but has been living in Kerry over 20 years. She owns the very successful Upfront PR agency. The two ladies will have a very busy autumn!

LADIES enjoyed an informative morning at Expose Beauty Lounge And Hair Studio on Thursday morning, looking forward to the season ahead.

‘Ready For Summer’ was a style event where Danny Leane of Annbury’s offered fashion tips for the coming season, while there were also hair and beauty advice from Expose staff, to showcase the products at the studio in Mounthawk.

Those who attended were treated to cakes, tea and coffee and Exposé are planning more such events in the future.

Tralee Hair And Beauty Salon Celebrates Another Award

THEY’RE on a roll in Caheranne Village.

Tralee hair and beauty salon, Brush N Blush, picked up their second award in six months at the weekend.

The business, run by mother and daughter team of Frances and Maureen McCarthy, won the Wedding Hair and Make-Up Salon of the Year- South West 2017 at The Irish Wedding Awards 2017 which were held in the Crowne Plaza, Dublin last Sunday night.

Maureen, Frances and the team at Brush ‘N’ Blush thanked their clients, especially all the brides who came to the salon in 2016.

The award comes after the salon scooped Hair Salon of the Year – South West 2016 at the inaugural Irish Hair and Beauty Awards held in Dublin last September.

Sunday’s award is timely because the salon celebrates its third birthday and is inviting all to an open day this Friday.

It will be an occasion to meet with the staff who will give you advice on your hair and to sample our new range of products.

They will be joined by Zhaia from Aloe Naturale, who will be launching Forever Lite, the weight loss program and will be available for free consultation and advice throughout the day.

There’ll be prosecco and cupcakes and a fantastic giveaway of a complete make over (hair/makeup/tan&snails) and a Clean 9 nutritional cleansing program. It’s on all day so call in anytime.

Brush ‘n’ Blush are also up for the Connect Hair and Beauty Awards at the Rose Hotel on March 12 for ‘Hair Salon of the Year’ ‘Occasion Hair Upstylist’ and ‘Junior Stylist’.

THE Bon Secours crowd are certainly a stylish bunch!

The Christmas party season is underway and a big one took place in The Rose Hotel where there were more stylish ladies than you could shake a stethoscope at.

There were dapper gents too of course, but they were outshined by the female workforce on a great evening in the hotel, where they partook in a mulled wine reception followed by a delicious meal in the Lee Suite.

There were around 180 in attendance and they all had wonderful, well-deserved night out. Scroll down for photos…

EXTRA chairs had to be produced to accommodate the number ladies who turned up for a special Shiseido special make-up and skincare event upstairs at CH Chemists last night.

Award-winning make-up artist and blogger Danielle Mahon proved a big attraction, as did well known beauty expert, Mary O’Donnell who was MC for the evening.

Beauty experts Anna Keogh and Catherine Vodden were also on hand to dispense tips to the ladies who enjoyed goodie bags, discounts, special offers, demonstrations, refreshments on arrival and much more. Scroll down for photos…

FORMER Rose of Tralee Maria Walsh was one of the guest speakers at an evening of fashion, fun and awareness in Benners Hotel on Thursday night.

‘Think Pink, Think Positive’, in aid of Breast Cancer Research, was an evening for ladies, by ladies with some inspirational speakers, including Daily Diva Diary founder Helen Quealy-Murphy and MC for the event, Orlagh Winters, a cancer survivor.

The evening featured style from award-winning designer Rebekah Wall, along with fashion house, Hannons in Castleisland. Vintage and pre-loved style was on show from Goose Boutique and there was some festive jewellery style from Billy Nolans & Hilsers as Louise Nolan talked guests through the trends for Christmas 2016. OVER 300 people attended the Lee Strand Annual Social on Saturday night at the Ballygarry House Hotel in Tralee.

The annual gathering attended by farmers, shareholders, staff and customers of Lee Strand was a wonderful social evening of fine dining, great music and dancing.

On arrival guests were welcomed with a Champagne reception in the Pavilion in Ballygarry, which was followed by a four course dinner in the banqueting hall.

Following dinner everyone danced the night away with well know Kerry band The Neily O’Connor Band, followed by DJ Martin Howard.

Florence and Caitriona McCarthy from Banna East, Ardfert were announced as the winner of Lee Strand Overall Milk Quality Award 2015.

Speaking on the night Donal Pierse, Chairman, Lee Strand congratulated Florence and Caitriona McCarthy as recipients of the Lee Strand Overall Milk Quality Award 2015.

He also congratulated all of Lee Strand’s monthly quality award winners and commended the quality achievements of Lee Strand farmers who month after month provide the highest quality milk in Kerry and beyond.

IT was a great Saturday night in Causeway as some fleet-footed Kerry hurlers strutted their stuff on the dance floor with their partners.

It was all part of the ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ fundraiser – in a specially constructed marquee at McHales Stretford End – to help send the Kerry hurling team off to Orlando on a holiday after their Christy Ring and Division 2A winning exploits.

Over 500 people attended on the night to see Brendan O’Leary and Elaine Bunyan win the public vote, while Mikey Boyle and Elaine Ryall gained the judges vote.

IT was a night of style, fun and great fashion tips as ladies from all over the county came to the Manor West Hotel for a ‘Fashion Soirée’ ahead of the Listowel Races Ladies Day.

MC’ed by TraleeToday.ie columnist and fashion expert, Orlagh Winters, the night featured the latest style in Ladies Day fashion and new looks for Autumn / Winter 2015, with exclusive showcases from top Kerry designers and milliners including Tina Griffin, Carol Kennelly and Aoife Hannon.

Guests enjoyed canapés and ice-cream on arrival as well as sparkling wine and a jazz band.

There was a Best Dressed Lady competition judged by RTE Today Show beauty Expert, Mary O’Donnell, with prize of a luxury day out at Listowel Races including two tickets to the McElligotts Honda Ladies Day on 18th of September, 4 course lunch, €100 cash to place some bets.

In the end the winner was Jennifer Quirke Kissane who was the delighted winner.

After the fashion show, there was dancing and fun as top DJ Ray Stack plays tunes into the night.

Proceeds from a raffle on the night went to the Kerry Cancer Support Group Health Link Bus.
