YOU couldn’t ask for a better morning for a cycle on Saturday, as around 90 people set off from the Na Gaeil Club in Killeen.

Their annual cycle was brought forward from August this year and was a great way to warm up for the Ring of Kerry Cycle in July.

The 1956 Rás Tailteann winner, Paudie Fitzgerald, had a the honour of starting the cycle.

Conditions were ideal as they set off from on the 40km route to Castleisland and back, but there was also an 80k route for more serious cyclists to tackle before returning for refreshments in the clubhouse. Scroll down for photos…

THE big match in Dublin had an effect on the number of participants in this year’s Na Gaeil GAA Club annual cycle.

Kerry v Mayo affected numbers at any events held in town on Saturday, but at least it was a nice day for a cycle, as over 60 people took to the road at 9.30am from the clubhouse in Killeen.

They went off on the 80km route via Castleisland, Abbeyfeale and Listowel, while a shorter route of 40km route via Castleisland was also an option.

The weather stayed dry and the riders deserved their refreshments on their return to the clubhouse that afternoon. Scroll down for photos…

THE participants were down on last year, but it was still a super day for the Na Gaeil GAA Club as they held their annual cycle.

Just over 100 cyclists took to the road at 9.30am from the clubhouse in Killeen on the 80km route via Castleisland, Abbeyfeale and Listowel, while a shorter route of 40km route via Castleisland was also an option.

The weather stayed dry for the most part and the riders arrived back to the clubhouse afterwards for well-earned refreshments. Scroll down for photos…
