Politician Michael Healy Rae and Kerry footballer Aidan O’Mahony are just two well known faces in the video which raises awareness of an upcoming disco night organised by the Glow Hearts 4 Crumlin.

Following on from pulling in the support of the All-Ireland champions, the group are organising a 80/90s Disco night in McSorleys, Killarney, on April 17 at 10pm.

All proceeds will go to Crumlin Children’s Hospital and Ronald McDonald House.

The ‘Glow Hearts 4 Crumlin’ group, is made up of six mothers of children born with a congenital heart defect.

Their first major fundraiser was held at the end last month when they encouraged schools and businesses to wear red for the day and make a small cash contribution.

It was an enormous success with CBS Clounalour, Presentation, Holy Family, St Ita’s and St Joseph’s among the 50 schools and businesses around the county taking part, raising in the region of €10,000.

To promote the 80/90’s disco, the group have enlisted the help of local internet TV channel, Social Box TV who created a video which features some well known faces from around the county along footage of previous charity events.

“Oh, they made his day,” said his aunt, Sharon Quilligan. “He wasn’t expecting it at all and he’s still talking about it. He’s a big Man Utd fan so he loves his football,” said Sharon.

Martin, son of Martin and Tara Quilligan, is from the Mitchels area and was diagnosed with a brain tumour back in November. The third class pupil in Moyderwell is undergoing chemotherapy at the hospital at the moment.

“They stayed chatting to him for a while and they signed t-shirts and teddy bears for him so he was delighted. It’ll be a milestone for him,” said Sharon.
