Ten Additional COVID Cases In Kerry With 557 More Nationally

THERE were 10 new cases of COVID-19 reported for Kerry at the NPHET briefing this evening.

There were 17 additional deaths and 557 more cases reported nationally. Nine deaths occurred in March, four in February, and four occurred in January or earlier. The median age of those who died was 81 years and the age range was 51 – 94 years.

The 14 day incidence of new cases for Kerry is 54.8 per 100,000 people. There have been 81 cases reported in the same period and the rolling five day average of cases is 6.

Kerry is the county with the fourth lowest incidence of cases in the past 14 days (after Cork, Kilkenny and Leitrim). The national incidence rate over the past 14 days is 148.

229 in Dublin, 58 in Kildare, 34 in Donegal, 31 in Meath, 24 in Tipperary, 20 in Galway, and the remaining 198 cases are spread across all other counties.

There have now been 228,215 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Ireland and 4,566 people who died with the virus since the start of the pandemic.

As of 8am this morning, 350 patients with Covid were in hospital, 83 of whom were in ICUs and 19 additional hospitalisations have been reported in the past 24 hours.

As of March 14th, 617,050 doses of COVID19 vaccine have been administered in Ireland:
