KERRY Airport has announced that Chalair will return to the Kingdom to service three routes to popular summer holiday destinations in France commencing from 29th June 2024.

Passengers can look forward to 13 weekly flights between Kerry and Brest in Brittany and Caen in Normandy and 10 weekly flights to Pau near the Pyrénées until early and late September respectively.

Such was the success of last summer’s weekly service to Brittany, Chalair decided to introduce flights to two more regions in France.

The Kerry Airport CEO, John Mulhern, said “The news that Chalair has decided to operate a weekly service to France again this summer and with that, the introduction of three routes in Brittany, Normandy and The Pyrénées. It was important that flights returned in light of the positive feedback from passengers who travelled between Kerry and France last year and the potential that exists to develop the routes further. We’re expecting lots of French visitors to come to Kerry to explore the Kingdom and realise that this is an extraordinary oasis here in the southwest of Ireland.”

The introduction of weekly flights to Caen in Normandy coincides with the 80th Anniversary of the D-day landings that led to the beginning of the end of World War 2.

“Normandy is not only remembered for being the location for one of the most important events in modern history, it is an incredibly beautiful place to visit and I hope the people of that region will appreciate what there is to offer when they travel to Kerry,” said John Mulhern.

Chalair’s CEO, Alain Battisti, expressed his enthusiasm on announcing his airline’s return to Kerry, “Chalair is proud to expand its flight links with Kerry this summer. We were overwhelmed by the positive feedback from our passengers who visited Kerry in 2023. This influenced our decision to resume the ‘French connection’ and to increase the destination offerings to three in 2024.

“We see your destinations as a launching pad to visit the beautiful County Kerry and the wider southwest of Ireland. These areas remain popular destinations for French tourists from the West and South of France and we wish them safe travels and happy holidays in 2024.”

Flights to/from Brittany, Caen and Pau are available from 29th June and can be booked now at en.Chalair.fr.

These new destinations from Kerry to Brest in Brittany, Caen in Normandy and Pau near the Pyrénées will bring to 10 the number of routes that will be available to passengers for the summer months.

Kerry Airport already serves Alicante, Faro, Dublin, London (Luton & Stansted), Manchester and Frankfurt Hahn with Ryanair.
