THREE years ago, adults with physical and mental disabilities from all over the county took to the dancefloor in Benners Tralee for a fantastic night out at ‘Rise’.
Well now the sequel is on and plans are advanced for ‘Rise 2’ to take place in Listowel next month. Organised by service users in Enable Ireland Tralee, it will give a chance for adults to enjoy a night out in a club environment with their peers and have some fun.
The idea was borne from Josh’s vision of creating a non- hostile and safe environment ,tailored to the needs of himself and other people who experience mainstream nightlife as he does.

The event back in December of 2019 was spearheaded by service users Tommy Cole and Josh Moore. It was a huge success and there were hopes for further events but then COVID hit.
Now there are no obstacles for more fun so Rise 2 will take place in Mermaids Listowel on Friday, December 2 from 8.30pm to 11pm. There will be a DJ, Chillout area, bar and dancing. Admission is €5 with the support buddy free. For more information, call 087-1954707.
