Tralee Bayb SwimmingChristmas Day Swim

The Tralee Bay Swimming Club organised 64th annual Christmas Day Swim in Fenit was another great success . The weather was a bit damp and it put off a few spectators, but over 500 swimmers showed up for the dash n splash . The water temperature was measured at 8.9c , which is quite good for the time of year.

It was great to see the 25 or so regular winter swimmers stick together for a longer swim afterwards . The event was again a fundraiser for RNLI Fenit Lifeboat and Mike OConnor , fundraiser , confirmed a good day of donations .

Winter Swimming

The winter swimming recommenced last Sunday Morning with 21 swimmers showing up for the weekly swim . The water temp was noticeably colder and was measured at 7.2 c.

The air temp was 9c and and a bit of drizzle was keeping things quite cool . While everybody felt the cold , they carried on regardless and all enjoyed a great morning. The temperatures will continue to be low and maybe drop a bit further for the next 6 weeks or so.

AGM

The Tralee Bay Swimming Club AGM is to be held on Thursday, 21st of January, 8pm in the Meadowlands Hotel, Tralee.

Please forward anything for the agenda, nominations for officers/committee (but fear not, several officers are happy to retain their positions) etc to cmfisher75@yahoo.co.uk

We would like to see all members come along and have your say on how you would like the club to run in the summer of 2016.
