Tralee LEA COVID Incidence Rate Above The National Average

THERE were 163 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the Tralee Local Electoral Area in the 14 day period up to Monday, August 9, according to figures available on the Government’s COVID-19 data hub.

This is a 14-day incidence rate of 493.4 per 100,000 of the population, is above the national incidence of 422.5 per 100,000 as of Monday, August 9. It’s now the second highest rate of the six LEAs in the county.

The Listowel Electoral Area is the highest with 161 new cases and a rate of 561.5 per 100,000. The Killarney Electoral Area saw 124 new cases, a current 14-Day Incidence Rate of 418.8 per 100k of the population.

There were 51 cases in the Corca Dhuibhne area, a rate of 359.6 per 100,000. There were 64 cases in the Kenmare Electoral Area (a rate of 255.4 per 100,000). The Castleisland LEA saw 37 new cases and a rate of 215.8 per 100,000.
