Tralee LEA COVID Incidence Rate Falls Below National Average

THERE were 147 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the Tralee Local Electoral Area in the 14 day period up to Monday, September 6, according to figures available on the Government’s COVID-19 data hub.

This is a 14-day incidence rate of 444.9 per 100,000 of the population, below the national incidence of 450.9 per 100,000 as of Monday, September 6. It’s the fourth highest rate of the six LEAs in the county.

It’s also well down on the number in the previous 14 day period (up to August 23) when 182 new cases were confirmed.

In all, there were 664 new cases recorded in Kerry during the period. This is down from 799 cases in the previous fortnight to August 23.

The LEA with the highest incidence in the county is Castleisland which saw 99 new cases and a rate of 577.4 per 100,000. Kenmare had 123 new cases, a rate of 490.8 per 100,000.

There were 48 cases in the Corca Dhuibhne Electoral Area, a rate of 479.5 per 100,000. The Listowel Electoral Area saw 123 new cases and a rate of 429 per 100,000.

The Killarney Electoral Area saw 124 new cases, a current 14-Day Incidence Rate of 418.8 per 100k of the population.

There have been 7,416 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Kerry since the pandemic began.
