Tralee Man To Run The 200km Kerry Way This Weekend

Terence O’Connor will take part in the Kerry Way Ultra this coming weekend.

A TRALEE man is gearing up to take on one of the ultimate running challenges this coming weekend when he sets out to run the entire 200km length of the Kerry Way.

Terence O’Connor, a member of the local Born To Run Marathon Club, will take part in the Kerry Way Ultra which starts this Friday, September 4 and which will finish on the Saturday, September 5.

The race will take place over two days and one night and has a maximum 40 hour time, with competitors slugging it out over the 200km route that will coverĀ roads, lanes, trails, hills and mountain paths.

To qualify for this run, Terence would have had to have completed eitherĀ at least two marathons since Sept 2014, one 50 mile event or one 100k event.

His social media yesterday was full of supportive comments from well wishers and friends as he no doubt winded down his training before the big day.
