Under 13 Boys:
Tralee Parnells U13s extended their unbeaten run in the NK League with a great win over a strong Lixnaw side. Though Lixnaw put over the first few scores, Parnells hit back quickly and a great goal by Oisin OSullivan set Parnells on their way. The boys kept up the pressure for the remainder of the half with some great point scoring from Andrew Kerins and Eoghan Costello. HT Parnells 1-5 Lixnaw 0-4.
Though the Parnells boys faced a strong wind in the second half, they never let Lixnaw back into the game. A goal by Odhran Kerins midway through the half put daylight between the teams, though Lixnaw never gave up. Jack Canty, Dan Maloney and Jamie Horgan, who was outstanding at centre back, also got on the scoresheet to close out the game. Final score Tralee Parnells 2-12 Lixnaw 0-06.  Next up is our final game vs Abbeydorney at home Tuesday evening.

Minors Face Abbeydorney in Championship:
Tralee Parnells took part in the Kerry Minor hurling Championship 2018 for the first time ever when we were drawn against Crotta O Neill’s the winner of the last two Kerry Minor Championships, in the first round.  Tralee played Crotta in Caherslee, August 6th (Bank Holiday Monday) at 7pm.  The opening half was a tough tight and tense affair with only a point separating the teams in a very low scoring first period.  After the interval Parnells rallied and Brian Lonergan had a great display in the forwards finding the Crotta net to stun the visitors who were no doubt surprised by the level of game the home team were giving them.

Parnells stayed ahead to record a club first ever win in a Minor hurling championship game.  So proud of our players, mentors and club supporters tonight. Historic evening for the club and to beat the reigning Champions in our first ever Minor championship game was unreal. Well done to Crotta who battled right to the end never giving up the fight.

It doesn’t get any easier in the semi final where Parnells are drawn against the very strong Abbeydorney team who sailed past Ballyduff in their quarter final.  Last year both clubs played together in the County league and Championship winning the Div 2 league and agonisingly losing the County final to Crotta.

There won’t be much that both teams don’t know about each other so a tight game is to be expected.  This County Championship semi-final is fixed for Saturday, August 18th at 3pm in Kilmoyley.

Under 15 Camogie:
Super displays all over the pitch Saturday by our U15’s in Crusheen Camogie’s U15 blitz in LK. Won v Cratloe, close v Lusna, beaten by St. Rynagh. Thank you organiser, Caroline from Crusheen, & venue, Murroe Boher, for a great club match opportunity!

Under 10 Boys:
Parnells Under 10 boys had a really good run out Friday evening in Ballyheigue in a very competitive match. Well needed after mid season break, thanks to all who made it.
