Under 10 Boys Lift Tournament Cup:

Massive congratulations to Tralee Parnells U10 hurling team on retaining Dr Bill Mangan Cup 2018! The boys played the best hurling each and all that we have seen from them this year! Scoreed 5:5 which reflects their superb play.  Well done players from the U10 mentors, Brian, Agnes, Paudie and Kieran.

Minors Championship Semi Final:

County Championship semi-final fixed for Saturday, August 18th at 3pm in Kilmoyley got off to an even start, with Parnells and Abbeydorney who had the wind trading points for the first 20 minutes to get to 5 all. Abbeydorney then worked a goal, followed by a second just before half time to give them a valuable lead.  Parnells battled bravely in the second half and it was mostly tit for tat, with Abbeydorney taking points to try to increase the lead, while Parnells scores narrowed it to 4 points after the three-quarter mark.  However, Abbeydorney finished the stronger and a final goal late on put a gloss on their score.  Parnells wish Abbeydorney well as they now prepare for the county final.  Parnells came up short on this big occasion for a young club, but this championship experience is invaluable to these players as they continue to progress and develop and blaze a trail for all the younger teams following them.

Under 13 Boys:

Well done to our Under 13s who defeated Abbeydorney Tuesday evening in the North Kerry Championship. Playing with a stiff breeze the lads lead at half time 5-01 to 0-01 and some tigerish defending in the second half saw our the boys win on a final scoreline of 5-03 to 3-02.  We have a bye next week and must wait and see who we play in the final.  Hopefully our minors will get the job done over Abbeydorney this Saturday.

Under 10 Boys:

Two powerful performances against Rathmore and St Pats East Kerry midweek saw our Under 10 boys qualify for the cup final of the Bill Mangan Memorial tournament.  Well done to all who togged out and looking forward to playing Dr Crokes Saturday in the unique setting of Muckross Traditional Farm.  Our under 10 boys had a good run out Tuesday evening against Lixnaw away. Good preparation for the Bill Mangan Memorial tournament. Lads ran out convincing winners in the end. Many thanks to Lixnaw GAA for inviting us out.

Check Your Helmet FaceGuard Safety:
A horrific injury suffered by an adult player in a recent Dublin senior club championship match has illustrated the potential dangers posed by defective hurling helmets.

The GAA has been made aware of an incident suffered by a hurler from the St Oliver Plunketts/Eoghan Ruadha club who suffered a very serious finger injury when he tackled an opponent who was playing with a broken bar in his helmet.

A threat was posed as a result of a player taking the field with a defective helmet which had one of its main vertical bars broken away at the top of the helmet.
