Tralee Parnells CrestMarching with Tralee Parnells:

Some great photos on Parnells Blog and Facebook page of our members marching in the Tralee St. Patrick’s Day Parade. Thank you to all our families who participated and helped us to fly the flag for our club. It was great to see so many children volunteer from the onlookers to take the challenge and try their shooting against our Parnells goalies.

At the reviewing stand we were delighted to see some of our elected representatives come down to take on our keeper. Not content with trying for goals, John Brassil TD, Norma Foley MCC and Graham Spring MCC lined the goals to take on all comers. For a photo of this blanket defense in action, see our club Facebook page.

We are not sure if this constituted a grand coalition or a strategic alliance, but those in Leinster House might take heed of the leadership example shown here by our Kerry public representatives.

Race Night:

Parnells main fundraiser for the year takes place on Saturday the 16th of April in the Fels Point / Rose of Tralee Hotel at 8.30pm. The club are looking for businesses to either Sponsor a race or place an ad in the race programme, contact us via mailto:secretary.traleeparnells.kerry@gaa.ie for details. To buy a horse, please contact any Parnells officer.

Kerry Hurlers:

Well done Kerry, another great boost for the small ball in the Kingdom. Fantastic scenes, as our county team produced the hurling shock of the season so far to claim their first victory over Offaly in 60 years at Birr in Division 1A. As some readers will know, Birr is home to a monument to the Kerry team that won the first hurling all Ireland there, so the omens were good.

Club Plan:

The final drafts are in progress for the remaining elements of our Parnells Strategic Club Plan. We hope to be able to make the completed plan document available to members in April
