cceIt was nice to see Fleadh Cheoil Chiarraí having a float and taking part in this years St Patricks Day Parade in Tralee. A huge thank you to everyone who helped and to all those who played on the Float and those who entertained in the Square afterwards. This Tuesday night in the Meadowlands at 8pm Kerry CCE will hold their County Board Meeting. Fleadh Cheoil Chiarraí Church gate collection will take place at all masses this weekend.

 

Your support would be appreciated. Glenflesk Rambling House on Easter Sunday 27th March 2016 in St. Agatha’s Community Centre 8pm. The MACALLA 1916 suite will perform on Tuesday, March 29th: Cork City Hall at 8pm and also on Wednesday March 30th: Lime Tree Theatre, Limerick at 8pm. Kilcummin CCE next branch meeting will be on Tues 29th March, and Causeway CCE next meeting Thursday the 31st March.

Kilcummin CCE Sun 3rd April will hold their 1916 commemoration event in Kilcummin Recreational Hall. CCE Sliabh Mish are holding a charity concert and ceili on Friday April 8th 2016 to raise funds for two local charities, Recovery Haven & Jigsaw Kerry. The night promises to be great night of music, singing and dancing that will appeal to any audience. On 13th April Weeshie Fogarty will feature Fleadh Cheoil Chiarraí and Comhaltas in Kerry on his programme “In Conversation with” and then on Saturday 16th April a street collection will take place in the town of Tralee and in Manor Shopping centre.

If you would be able to help on this day as a collector your help would be very much appreciated. Fleadh na Mumhan committee continue their preparations for this years event which will be held from 12th to 17th July in Listowel. Ceili by Donie Nolan on Saturday night followed by Johnny Reidy on Sunday in the open air of the Square in Listowel.

Finally at the Ard Chomhairle meeting of Comhaltas Saturday 19th March in Dublin, it was announced that this years recipient of ‘Gradam an Chomhaltais’ will be Munster Secretary Assunta Ui Chathasaigh. It is the supreme accolade of the Organisation and is in recognition of her many years of dedicated service to the organisation at all levels.

The award will be presented in September at a weekend in Cultúrlann na hÉireann Dublin. Comhghairdeas Assunta from The Board of Kerry CCE and all their members. All Ireland Fleadh Cheoil na hEireann 2017 was also awarded to Ennis Co Clare at that meeting. For all the up to date information in Comhaltas Circles click into www.kerrycomhaltas.ie
