Tralee RFC Match Reports

U18’s

Saturday 12th October

Killarney V Tralee-Listowel

Listowel-Tralee boys recorded a second victory in the Munster U18s Conference on Saturday. We played into the breeze in the first half but started well, dominating possession for the first quarter. Our first try was the result of concerted forward pressure.

The industrious Jerry Finnegan slipped through a crack in the Killarney defence to score in the corner. Killarney gained a foothold in the game and started to build phases.

However, Sean Stack-Pullen intercepted a loose pass in our half and outpaced the defence to score under the posts. Seamus Lyne added the conversion to give us a 12-0 lead. Killarney finished the half strongly and scored after a series of forward drives to leave the half-time score 12-7.

We used the wind effectively to pin Killarney back early in the second half. Scott Ryan scored his second try in as many weeks when he touched down following a delightful cross- field kick from Seamus Lyne.

Seamus converted from wide out to give us a healthy 19-7 lead. However, Killarney dominated the remainder of the match. They scored with 10 minutes left to reduce arrears to 19-12. Only an incredible try saving tackle from centre, Emil Beauseigneur, prevented a certain score in the last minute as we weathered the storm to hang on for a hard-fought 19-12 victory.

Under 14 boys:

Sunday 13th Oct

Abbeyfeale V Tralee in the West Munster League

Another great day for our u14 Boys – 3 from 3.

Tralee travelled to the Grove in Abbeyfeale today with a 4pm KO.

In beautiful sunshine Paddy Lane got the game started with a well-placed kick. After a few phases the man of the moment Dillion Corcoran got his hands on the ball and ran from halfway to score his first try of the game. Abbeyfeale answered this with a well worked try close to the end of the first half. In the second half our boys defended well and were quick to the breakdown which gave us a great base for three more tries in the second half by that man again, Dillon Corcoran. The game finished 24/7 to Tralee. We want to thank Abbeyfeale for a very competitive, well spirited game.
