Tralee Warriors Will Have A New Coach Next Season

GARVEY’S Tralee Warriors has announced that Mark Bernsen will not be coach of the team next season.

The American coached the side to two Champions Trophy wins and two top four finishes in the team’s first two seasons in the Superleague.

The announcement was made on the Warrior’s Facebook page last night. It read;

“Garvey’s Tralee Warriors are officially announcing that Mark Bernsen, our coach for the last two seasons, will not be at the helm of our Super League team for the 2018/2019 season.

The club would like to acknowledge the fantastic work and commitment shown by Mark to the warriors since the teams inception in 2016.

Mark’s association with basketball in Tralee began with Tralee Tigers, continued with Tralee Imperials Ladies, before agreeing to take the reins of our Super League team.

Club Chairperson Terry O’Brien said; “Mark is the consummate professional and an absolute gentleman, who will always be welcome in Tralee. On behalf of the club I would like to wish Mark and his family the very best for the future.”

The club would also like to announce that negotiations are ongoing with a number of candidates to secure the services of a new head coach for the coming season. #watchthisspace”

Mark Bernsen has played a huge part in making basketball a massive success again in Tralee and TraleeToday.ie wishes him the best for the future.
