The day included presentations from guest speakers and experts on a range of topics. A new website www.actionforbiodiversity.ie will act as a library of all the local Biodiversity Action Plans being produced across the country, as well as offering lots of resources on how to create a community biodiversity plan and the variety of biodiversity actions communities can take.

Tralee Tidy Towns has received funding for a CBAP for the Tralee-to-Fenit Greenway supported by Kerry County Council.

A survey of the biodiversity has already taken place and one of a series of community engagement opportunities has been held at Fenit, with the next one scheduled for The Rose Hotel, Tralee on Monday, October 9 from 7.30-8.30pm and all are invited to register their interest by sending an email to: tidytownstralee@gmail.com

Ger Scollard member of Tralee Tidy Towns steering committee and Chair of Irish Wildlife Trust (Kerry branch) said: “This is an opportunity for anyone in the Tralee area with an interest in taking action for Biodiversity along the Greenway to get involved and we urge all those who’d like to have an input in the planning and implementation of biodiversity actions along the Greenway to  attend.”
