IMPROVEMENTS to the Town Park playground and extra benches are on the way over the coming months.
Councillor Pa Daly had a motion before the meeting Tralee Municipal District councillors on Monday morning, requesting that the local authority upgrade the playground.
In reply, Council Management said that a significant upgrade of the playground, including the provision of toddler and disability friendly equipment, started on October 22 and is set to take six weeks to complete.

Also, Cllr Norma Foley had a motion that the Council would place appropriate rest points in the Park to facilitate people who wish to use the Park for exercise but may require some support to complete the route.
Replying, Council Management said they would provide a number of benches, three initially, at appropriate locations along the main loop walk to be in place by the end of January 2020.
Cllr Daly asked that the Council be mindful that any bench is not located near the start of the Park Run route for safety reasons, as runners veer off the path at the beginning to overtake other participants and might not see the bench.
