THE sun may have been shining in town on Friday, but staff from two Tralee schools had a wet start to the weekend.

Teachers in Caherleaheen National School and the CBS primary school took on the Ice Bucket Challenge after Holy Family nominated them earlier this week.

“Some of the teachers have done it twice already so they weren’t too happy when I told them they had to do it again!” said Caherleaheen National School Principal, Dónal O’Connor.

Traleetoday.ie was reliably informed that the teachers at Caherleaheen reserved the biggest bucket of icy water for Principal O’Connor.

The Principal nominated Flemby National School and Blennerville Primary School to do the challenge.

Meanwhile over in CBS Primary School, the teachers decided they would be dumping the water over themselves while all decked out in green and gold.

“We’re delighted to rise to the challenge of the nomination we got from Holy Family National School. It’s for a great cause so we’re more than happy to do it,” said School Principal, Denis Coleman.

The Principal was the last person to get the ice bucket treatment and an extra couple of buckets were set aside especially for him, to the cheers of pupils and teachers alike.

The CBS Primary School nominations are, C.B.S Secondary (The Green), the Monastery Primary School (Killarney), Scoil Mhuire (Castleisland), Lucan Educate Together (Dublin).
