A FORMER footballer of the year, an inspirational youth movement leader and one of our most well-known landmarks, feature in a video that showcases the astonishing skill of hurling.
And it’s all to promote a new organisation which is the brainchild of a Derryquay native, Eamonn Sayers.
Former Wexford hurler, Diarmuid Lyng, put together the video, which was nearly two years in the making, for the non-profit organisation World Sports Team.
The organisation seeks to raise awareness and generate support for athletes affected by catastrophic sports injuries.

“We are the world’s sports network from fans, to professional athletes, to coaches,” reads the statement on the organisation’s website. “We are working together to raise awareness and generate support for those affected by catastrophic sports injuries. Already, we have top sports stars supporting us asking their fans to join the team. It is free to join and is the one sports team that every sportsperson should support.”
