The weekend. It’s so close we can taste it. We’ve got that Friday feeling so if you want to know what’s on in town for the weekend then looky here…

Friday

Expose Beauty Lauch

Sunday Independent beauty writer and TV3 regular, Triona McCarthy, will officially open Expose Beauty in Mounthawk from 3pm to 7.30pm with some fantastic offers and a glass of bubbly to celebrate.

Expose are offering the added benefit of 20% of a free goodie bag for the first 100 people to visit the salon on the day with a prize hidden in one of the goodie bags worth €200. They also promise “a few surprises on the day that ladies will love”.

Chop Or Change

Two sisters will be shaving their heads in aid of Recovery Haven. Charlotte and Sarah Higgins are holding a ‘Chop Or Change’ event in the Slieve Mish Bar this Friday night at 8pm and they are hoping the public turn out for a great cause.

The girls are dying their hair and then they’re shaving their heads along with two other girls and a guy who’s shaving his beard. Eight other guys will be waxing his legs and there’s a spot prize for everyone in the audience…ok not really, but apparently there’s loads!

Saturday

Francis Brennan, Book Signing

Well known hotelier and TV presenter, Francis Brennan will be signing copies of his book at O’Mahony’s Bookshop at 3pm.

The co-owner of the five-star Park Hotel in Kenmare, with brother John, Francis has written a book ‘It’s The Little Things: Francis Brennan’s Guide To Life’. Francis Brennan is instantly recognisable from the ‘At Your Service’ RTE show where he and brother John give advice to tourism businesses on how to maximise their potential.

What’s billed as ‘A Great Night of Fashion Fun and Music’ is taking place in the Ballyroe Heights Hotel at 8pm. All proceeds are in aid of the Tralee and West Kerry branch of the Multiple Sclerosis Society.

On the night there is a cheese and wine reception, which will be followed by a Fashion Show. The night will finish up with live music, a DJ and free finger food.

Kerins O’Rahilly’s v Kilcummin, County Championship Relegation Playoff

The blue part of town may have been looking on with envious eyes towards Rock Street in recent weeks, but they have received good news in the form of Tommy Walsh returning home this Christmas.

Making sure that Tommy plays senior club football next year could be decided on Sunday when Kerins O’Rahillys face Kilcummin in a game where the winners maintain senior status in the county championship. Throw in at 2pm, in Castleisland Desmonds pitch.
