120 New Social Housing Units To Be Delivered In Tralee Before End Of October

Houses at Clean Láir at Lohercannan will be fully completed by the end of October.

THERE will be 70 social and affordable housing units commencing construction next year in the Tralee Municipal District, while 120 units completed units will have the keys handed over to tenants by the end of October 2022.

The details were revealed after a question from Sinn Féin Cllr Cathal Foley on how many units will commence in 2023, at the meeting of the Tralee Municipal District of Kerry County Council on Monday.

He was informed that the 70 units will begin to be built in four locations next year;  Áras na Cluana, Mitchels Rd, Tralee — 8 units; Clogharesta, Tralee – 16 units; Matt Talbot Rd, Tralee – 27 units (Subject to Part 8 approval) and Garryruth, Tralee – 19 units (Subject to Part 8 approval). These units will be completed in 2024/2025.

Labour Cllr Terry O’Brien asked how many new units will be allocated in the coming weeks in the Tralee MD. It was revealed that between August and the end of October of this year, 120 new units will be delivered to tenants in Tralee.

There are 21 units in Cluain na Géise, Ballyrickard — comprising six four-bed and 15 three-bed houses — completed with 19 keys already handed over to tenants.

There are 30 units in Croogorts, Tralee which are on schedule to be completed towards the end of September. These comprise of eight one-bed, 16 two-bed, five three-bed and one four-bed units.

Eight units — four two-bed and four three-bed houses — in Rahoonane will be ready by mid-September and 61 units at Cluain Láir in Lohercannan are due to be fully completed at the end of October,

These comprise of eight one-bed units, 37 three bed houses, 12 four-bed houses and four five bed houses.
