Green Light For Housing Development At CBS Monastery Site In Tralee

A NEW residential development has been given the go ahead at the site of the CBS Monastery at Castlecountess in Tralee.

Kerry County Council granted permission to the applicants Nailun Limited for the development, subject to 19 conditions.

The existing two-storey building — which is located adjacent to CBS The Green Secondary School — will be demolished to make way for the construction of 14 new housing units.

The development will consist of four two-bedroomed and 10 three-bedroomed houses, with 28 car park spaces. The development will be accessed via the existing vehicular access from Castlecountess and new gates will be installed.

There is also planning for an ESB Substation, landscaping to include a play area and all ancillary site works necessary to facilitate the development.
