Sponsored: All You Need To Know About The PRP Treatment At CHRC

.

Mary O’Donnell of the Cosmetic and Hair Restoration Clinic at the Bon Secours on the hair density treatment for both males and females called PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) available now at the clinic…

What is PRP?

PRP involves taking plasma from your blood and injecting the plasma into your scalp to increase hair density. The procedure increases blood supply to the hair follicle and increases the thickness of the hair follicle.

How is the blood injected for the treatment?

The blood is drawn from your arm and placed into a centrifuge which spins rapidly to separate the plasma. The platelet rich plasma is administered into the scalp via a pneumatic gun to areas that require increased hair growth. The pneumatic gun gives the patient a more comfortable treatment and reduces the pain level.

Does the hair get thicker with PRP?

Yes, the PRP treatment induces new hair regeneration in both male and female pattern hair loss. It also decelerates hair loss in men and women, makes finer hairs thicker while in turn increasing the overall density and strength of the hairs.

How many treatments are needed?

Everyone’s hair growth is different and your initial consultation with our surgeon will give you a better idea of how many treatments you will need. On average most PRP patients will initially require 3-4 treatments every 4-6 weeks and then maintenance treatment every 6 months.

What is the duration of the treatment?

The PRP treatment itself takes between 20-30 minutes so you can easily have it done on your lunch hour.

• For more information on our PRP treatment at our multi-award-winning clinic contact CHRC; chrc@bonsecours.ie or phone- 0860786120

Finnegan On Films: Hard-Hitting Drama And Thrillers On The Box Tonight

.

Our movie guy, James Finnegan, says it’s mostly drama and thrillers on the TV today…

Greystoke: The Legend of Tarzan, Lord of the Apes (Saturday 2.20pm RTE1) is the story of John Clayton, the heir to the Earl of Greystoke, who is born in the jungle where his parents are shipwrecked, and raised by apes after his parents death.

He is discovered as an adult by explorer Philippe D’Arnot (Ian Holm) who helps him return to England and claim his birthright.

This version of Tarzan is of a man caught between two very different worlds has a very eighties slant on the traditional Edgar Rice Burroughs story.

.

Directed by Hugh Hudson, and starring Christopher Lambert in the title role, it also stars Andie MacDowell, James Fox, Nigel Davenport, and in his last film appearance, Ralph Richardson.

Scoob! (Saturday 6.35pm RTE1) is a modern animated version of Scooby-Doo, where he and Shaggy, Fred, Wilma and Daphne face their most challenging mystery yet – a plot to unleash the ghost dog Cerberus upon the world.

Starring the vocal talents of Will Forte, Mark Wahlberg, Jason Isaacs, Zac Efron and Amanda Seyfield, this animation does not quite have the charm of the original cartoons.

With what might be the least appealing film title ever, The Accountant (Saturday 9.15pm RTE2) tells of Christian Wolff (Ben Affleck), an autistic accountant with a sideline in laundering cash for the Mob.

When the Treasury Department start to close in on him, he decides to take on a legitimate client, specifically a robotics firm.  However, as he works through their books, he uncovers discrepancies worth millions of dollars.

Jessie Buckley’s star quality and talent shines through everywhere in Wild Rose (Saturday 9.20pm RTE1).

Fresh out of prison after serving a sentence for a drug offence, Glaswegian Rose (Buckley) pursues her dream of being a country singer.  However her mother, Marion (Julie Walters), thinks her priority should be her two children.

Not only does Buckley give an amazing acting performance, but she does all her own singing for this role, and for which she has not received, in my opinion,  her deserved credit.

Set before the events of “Silence of the Lambs”, and what is basically a remake of the underrated “Manhunter” that stared the even more underrated performance of Brian Cox as Hannibal Lecter, Red Dragon (Saturday 9.30pm TG4) sees Lecter (played here again by Anthony Hopkins) captured by FBI profiler Will Graham (Edward Norton).

When the self styled Red Dragon serial killer, who slaughters whole families, is on the rampage, Graham is called out of retirement, and must seek the assistance of Lecter to stop him.

In The French Connection (Saturday 11.35pm RTE2), two tough New York cops use unconventional methods to break an international drug ring being masterminded by a French Kingpin.

This Oscar winning fact-based thriller stars Gene Hackman, Roy Scheider, Fernando Rey and Tony Lo Bianco. Enjoy!
