THE Volkswagen ‘Campfest’ is returning again this month to Michael O’Neill’s Railway Tavern in Camp and it’s set to be another fun event for motor enthusiasts.

Over 65 old VW camper vans (and a few Beetles too) made an appearance at the famous pub last year and a great couple of days are planned from Friday, October 19 to Sunday, October 20.

The 15th year of Campfest will kick off on the Friday as the wagons roll in to the car-park at the Railway Tavern and Mike is promising a chilled out night of good banter and a bit of craic.

They have the added bonus of extra parking in The Junction Bar next door, where you can also avail of the fantastic menu on offer if you fancy a great feed.  This will allow all campers park up in a safe place off the main road.

Saturday morning at 11.30am the vans and beetles will set off through the picturesque hills of west Kerry led by Michael O’Neill, calling to the South Pole Inn in Annascaul for a bite to eat and then lining up by Inch Strand.

Then it’s back to The Railway Tavern for a great evening of music and craic with a few pizzas thrown in. There will also be an auction in The Railway Tavern to raise much needed funds for the two chosen charities. Of course you don’t have to own a Volkswagen camper van or beetle to join in the fun! Just turn up on the night.

Anyone who has an interest in the VW world is welcome to come along and if you have anything VW related you would like to donate to the auction, no matter how big or small, feel free to bring it along. For more information, check out the Campfest facebook page here
