Juvenile Academy:

U6’s: It was great to see another huge turnout at training last Sunday morning with Jayden Sinnott, Cian O’Halloran and Aoife Kennedy showing great skill and determination.  A huge well done to Sarah Greaney who won our footballer of the week cup impressing her coaches with her football skills. Keep up the good work.

U8’s: The U 8s are making fantastic progress and we had a brilliant skills training session on Sunday last. Ben & Sam Jones and Stephen Murphy played very well and Peileadoir na Seachtaine was presented to Michael Enright who excelled once again.

U10’s: Our under 10 boys & girls were in academy action last Sunday. We had a good turnout at training in the Pres Hall. Everyone put in a great effort during the session with Rory Kelliher, Kayla O’Connor, Gráinne Breen and Thomas Sheehy giving it their all during the session.  Congratulations to Diarmuid Waugh on winning the footballer of the week trophy. It is important that you all keep practicing   at home during the week. We hope to see you all at training Sunday at 11am in the Pres Hall, Moyderwell Tralee.

U12’s: Training continues on Friday from 6.30pm to 7.30pm on our  astro turf.

U14’s: Training continues on Thursday from 6.00pm to 7.00pm on our  astro turf.

U16’s: Training continues on Friday from 5.30pm to 6.30pm on our astro turf.

Girls: Outdoor training to resume as soon as the weather improves.

Seniors:

Played in bright sunshine & a light breeze in Churchill’s pitch last Sunday, St Pats gave a very credible performance in the 5th round Brendan’s league match against Na Gaeil. Na Gaeil opened the scoring with a converted free but over the next 20 minutes St Pats controlled the game, we had our opening point from Liam Poff after 10 minutes followed by points from Michael O’Sullivan, Paul McMahon & Adrian Greaney before a poor clearance & sloppy play left Na Gaeil in for a goal to level the scores against the run of play.

St Pats pulled back two from Tommy Lynch & Brendan Poff & a great catch by Michael O’Sullivan at mid-field, linked to Brendan Poff who found Liam Sullivan & he buried to the net for a good goal. Points exchanged at either side before the break left the half time score 1-10 to 1-03.

On the resumption Na Gaeil hit a purple patch & scored 5 unanswered points to narrow the gap to 3 pts. Liam Sullivan found the net for the second time & this gave St Pats the momentum to push on for the win. A strong finish by St Pats , with Kieran Hurley, Luke Mulligan, Killian Quirke & Brendán savage comming into the fray in the second half to give St Pats a comfortable win on a score line of 2-16 to 1-10.

We have two games left in the Brendan’s League vs Ballymac & Ardfert. It is hoped to get these played over the next two weeks before the first round of the county league on March 20th. Keep an eye on the club Facebook page for any fixture updates. Training continues on the Astro turf on Tuesday & Friday nights at 7:30pm.

Registration:

Registration forms have been distributed to all current members. These can be returned to any club officer or left in O’Shea’s Gala Shop. There will also be forms available via team mentors and at the Academy on Sunday mornings.
The club would also ask as many people as possible to avail of the option to sign up for our annual Lotto subscription which funds the day to day running of the club.

Family Membership and an annual Lotto subscription are available for €150.

Fully paid members will be entitled to apply for an All Ireland ticket should Kerry reach the final.

Scór na bPaistí:

Our Local Scór na bPaistí competition will be held in the ITT, North Campus on Friday March 11th at 7pm.  We hope to build further on our entries & successes of 2015.

We have a very dedicated group of performers who practice regularly and we are privileged to have musicians & tutors of the calibre of James Allman & Mary O’Sullivan, ably assisted by Marie, Denise, Mary and others who give their time so often.

Quiz:

Our Family Quiz scheduled for Quanes Bar this Friday, March 4th, has been postponed. Unfortunately, the date clashes with 2 other events. Please check our Facebook page for any future update.

Sympathy:

The club would like to extend its sympathy to the families and friends of Michael Quirke, Killarney and late of Derrymore and Mary O’Halloran  Ballyard . May they rest in peace.
