THE eir Other Voices Festival returns to Dingle, from December 1-3 and while the musical heart of eir Other Voices beats stronger than ever within the walls of St. James’ Church, beyond the chapel gates a three-day festival of music, song and story has evolved, on the streets and laneways, in the pubs, cafés and restaurants of Dingle.
With more than 70 free events on the Music Trail in association with Heineken, a multitude of venues hosting the eir live-stream from St. James’ Church, debate and discourse at Banter and a feast of local food and refreshments, eir Other Voices Festival is a unique celebration enjoyed by thousands every year.
This year’s Music Trail in association with Heineken, will feature a diverse and eclectic line-up of melody makers plying their wares across 13 Dingle venues – An Díseart, Nellie Fred’s, An Droichead Beag, John Benny’s, The Marina Inn, McCarthy’s, An Chonair, Dingle Brewing Company, Paul Geaney’s, Adams, Bean in Dingle, Kennedy’s and Murphy’s.

Seek out new sounds, from the percussive assault of RSAG, to the soaring funk, soul of Loah, the sublime, crystal pop of Elm and the driving indietronic beats of Columbia Mills.
Discover the alt-rock of Other Creatures, alongside the soul soaked R’n’B joy of Super Silly, the ethereal sounds of Come On Live Long and the hook-laden musings of Waldorf and Cannon.
MC and DJ Music Trail sets will include turns by Kerry’s finest Cian Ó’Cíobháin, the urban grime of Mango and MathMan and the house-loaded sonics of R. Kitt. Another raft of Music Trail acts will be announced in the coming weeks.
eir will be making it possible for music fans to witness all the happenings in St. James’, live-streaming the Church performances to venues throughout Dingle including Benner’s Hotel, the Dingle Bay Hotel, Foxy John’s, Nellie Fred’s, Adams, McCarthy’s and many more.
With huge screens, high definition audio and visual and close proximity to a freshly poured pint, eir screening venues are a massive hit during the Festival. Grab a stool in lieu of a pew, relax and enjoy.
Banter returns to eir Other Voices Festival at Foxy John’s on Saturday December 2nd and Sunday December 3rd. Telling stories about this, that and the other, Banter is often raucous, consistently agitative and never humdrum.
This year’s Banter will feature a host of diverse guests and talking points from conversations with playwright Enda Walsh, to the incredible story of Rough Trade Records with Geoff Travis and Jeannette Lee.
Take a journey into space with Emer Reynolds, director of The Farthest and join cultural anthropologist Genevieve Bell to discuss people, technology and the future.
Writer and broadcaster Sinead Gleeson will present the arts review of the year, with a special performance of Your Chroma with Stands Music.
Sarah McBriar will tell the story of the AVA Festival, while Caitlín Nic Gabhann and Ciarán Ó’Maonaigh will be exploring traditional music in contemporary times. Further Banter experiences will be announced closer to the Festival.
As one of Ireland’s most celebrated culinary towns, Dingle is nirvana for food lovers. From incredible pub grub to wholesome café treats, Michelin fine dining to fresh bags of chips, there’s something to satisfy the most demanding of taste buds.
Adding to the street festival vibe, Dingle Cookery School will be organising a host of delicious street food stalls located across the town throughout the Festival weekend. Expect fresh, local, seasonal ingredients, straight from the soil, sea and land – an explosion of big flavours, street-side, from across the globe.

All those who register in advance will be entered into draws for tickets to the St. James’s Church TV recordings.
Gigs in some of the Music Trail venues will only be accessible to those who have registered and collected a Festival wristband. Registration for wristbands is free and all events at the eir Other Voices Festival, are free, but subject to capacity.
