KERRY County Council is providing householders in the county wishing to dispose of old mattresses with the opportunity to do so on Saturday, August 10.
Clean, dry mattresses will be accepted at the North Kerry Landfill at Muingnaminane near Tralee between 9am and 3pm and for no charge.
Deposits from commercial customers will not be accepted and a maximum of three mattresses per household is permitted.

The initiative is supported by Kerry County Council’s Anti-Dumping Initiative 2019 in conjunction with the Southern Waste Enforcement Regional Lead Authority.
It is recognised that mattresses can be difficult to dispose of and this gives householders an opportunity to dispose of them in an environmentally sustainable way. Mattresses collected will be disposed by a specialist recycling contractor.
The North Kerry Landfill is located on the L2015 road between Kielduff and Dan Paddy Andy’s Cross (GPS 52.2983913-9.5424653).
