PEIL FAOI 14:
Our Under 14 lads are working on their preparations for their visit to Nemo Rangers Club, off South Ring Road in Cork, on January 31st/February 1st, when the annual Mick O’Brien Tournament will take place.
PEIL FAOI 18:
Our minors are also working in preparation for their first game in the town league which is provisionally scheduled for two weeks time…Sunday, February 1st…Lá ‘le Bríde….céad lá an Earraig. The County League is expected to begin at the end of February/start of March.

It was inspiring to see these youngsters training hard in mid-January as they get themselves ready for their championship season. It was also nice to note that not a foul word was audible from the coaching staff agus iad i mbun gnótha i bPáirc na gCromán ar an Domhnach. Bíonn na leaideanna seo sa Gym ar an Aoine. Fair-play dóibh!
CORN UÍ MHUIRÍ:
Best wishes to Tralee CBS and, go speisialta, to Jack Morgan, Jack O’Shea, Calvin Foley, Seán Fitzmaurice and the injured Michael O’Donnell in their up-coming Corn Uí Mhuirí competition quarter-final. They’ll challenge Pobalscoil Chorca Dhuibhne on Wednesday 21st at 1.30pm in the Dr Croke Club pitch, Killarney. Come on, The Green!
ROCK SCIENTIST:
Comhghairdeachas le Ciara Begley, an Austin Stack Club footballer, who was a competitor at this year’s Young Scientist Exhibition in Dublin. You can read about her project on ‘sport related injuries’ on traleetoday.ie. Ciara did a fine interview, agus í in éineacht lena múinteoir eolaíochta, on Radio Kerry last week. Well done, Ciara! We have more than just good footballers in The Rock!
JONES’ ROAD:
A nice Rock crowd was in attendance at GAA headquarters on Saturday last for the presentation of Gradam Mhic Chon Midhe. Let’s hope that that won’t be our club’s last 2015 award in Páirc an Chrócaigh!! See Adrienne’s photos.
