CAILINI FAOI 16

On Thursday 4th we played Duagh in the Div 4 semi final in Ballymac. Though we’d trained twice a week for the last 4 weeks & training had gone well we produced a dismal 1st half performance.

Duagh dominated the first half and led at half time 2-5 to 2 points, Mary Healy and Aisling O Connell our scorers. Concession of a poor goal just before half time made a bad situation worse and were it not for the efforts of Niamh Rahilly, Aisling O Connell & Leah O Neill we’d have been further behind.

We regrouped at half time and made several changes in personnel, Emily O Donaghue, Lisa Curran, Caoimhe Carroll and Eve Creedon all came on . Unfortunately a minute into the 2nd half Duagh got a good 3rd goal but the girls rolled up the sleeves and started to make in roads to the lead . Led by Niamh and Aisling we performed a lot better, a goal from Aisling following good work from Leah settled us, Mary and Emily chipped in with 2 good points , a good run from Niamh saw Emily drop a delightful ball to Lisa who palmed the ball to the net to make it 2-4 to 3-5 . Two more goal chances went a begging before Duagh attacked and we conceded a very poor goal from a goalkeeper error . This effectively ended our come back . The final whistle came a few minutes after to end our co league hopes for 2016 .

Niamh Rahilly , Aisling O Connell and Leah O Neill were excellent on the night and really took the fight to Duagh , good 2nd half performances from Tara and Michaela Murphy and Aine Rice were encouraging too.
North Kerry League for this group next in August and September so we continue to train for that.

CAILINI FAOI 10
Our U 10 girls had a large turnout for training on Sunday morning last where amongst those performing well were Sarah West, Sileonagh Mansfield, Maura Culloty and Aoife Sweeney. The girls have two games in the coming week. Firstly we welcome Glenflesk to Ballymac on Thursday evening for a 6.15 throw in game and on Sunday we travel to John Mitchels.

CAILINI FAOI 8
