THE gorgeous weather we had Friday afternoon was put on ice for the teachers of Blennerville Primary School who were the latest school to take on the Ice Bucket Challenge.
Two lucky children from each class were chosen to dunk icy water over a teacher, while all the other pupils watched on with particular enjoyment.
“It’s a great idea and it’s for a very good cause. Motor Neuron Disease is a horrible disease so if we can help, we’re all for that,” said Principal Terry O’Sullivan.

There was also plenty of parents there to revel in the teachers’ drenching but, Principal Terry O’Sullivan was one step ahead when he included ‘The Parents Association of Blennerville Primary School’ as one of the school’s nominees, ensuring the teachers might get their own back.
“The kids are dying to get us all soaked wet, They’re looking forward to it and we’re looking forward to it ourselves. It’s a bit of fun for a worthy charity,” said Terry.
Blennerville Primary School was nominated by Caherleaheen National School last Friday.
The Ice Bucket Challenge nominations made by Blennervile Primary School were, The Parents Association of Blennerville Primary School, Father Francis Nolan and Derryquay National School.
