Bon Secours Presents Cheque To University Hospital Kerry Unit Fund

IT’S been over a month since the 12 couples took to the dance floor at Ballygarry House Hotel for ‘Sickly Come Dancing’ and the money is still coming in.

On Wednesday, the Bon Secours handed over a cheque for €1,500 to go towards the fund to extend the Chemotherapy unit at University Hospital Kerry in order to provide a purpose-built facility where patients can be treated with compassion, respect and dignity at all stage of the treatment process.

Over €65,000 has already been raised thanks to the ‘Sickly Come Dancing’ night — organised by the hospital’s social club — and donations from the public.

Mary Fitzgerald and Teresa Walsh from University Hospital Kerry were present to accept the cheque and expressed their gratitude to the Bons.

“This is part of our Community Initiative Funding allocation for 2018 as every year we contribute to worthy causes in Kerry and further afield,” said Manager of Bon Secours Tralee, TJ O’Connor.
