“Our name is the Butterfly Bank and we are all about growing and becoming a better version of yourself by saving money in the bank, just like a caterpillar turns into a butterfly,” said Rebecca Poultry. “We hope to get as many students in our school to set up and account also focusing on the student representative council and the 1st years.”

This team was selected after several rounds of interviews by external representatives of AIB.

The Bank was launched by Maxine and Rokuia -two representatives of Spin South West – in the school assembly area at lunch-time and students received lots of goodies from the Spin South West team and the bank representatives – pens, sweets and lanyards etc.

The Bank management team also had the opportunity to record an interview with Spin South West.

AIB Student officer Sarah Leahy also attended the launch. The bank will be opening in the 1st year area at lunchtimes on Thursdays after Christmas so students will be able to save a portion of any money they received for Christmas.

Posters around the school have details of all the different media contacts – Facebook, Snapchat, Instagram and Twitter!
