KERRY star, Colm Cooper, is to have a minor operation on his shoulder next week.
The Dr Crokes man will have the procedure in Santry and it is hoped he will be back on the playing fields in January, at the earliest.
He is the latest in a long line of Kerry players to undergo surgery this year, with his fellow Kerry forward James O’Donoghue, also going for a more serious procedure on his shoulder on Monday, which should see him miss the entire Allianz National League campaign.
Cooper’s Dr Crokes teammates Johnny Buckley (knee) and Kieran Buckley (cruciate) also had surgery this year, while Paul and Mikey Geaney had back procedures, Shane Enright also had back surgery, Anthony Maher on his hip and Peter Crowley on his shoulder.
