COLM Cooper looks set to release a book on his career which will be released in time for Christmas.

According to a report in Kerry’s Eye today, the 32-year-old attacker is currently working on a book about his life with a Dublin publisher.

The news may spark speculation that Cooper, who will turn 33 this year, might be ready to hang up his boots with Kerry.

Unlike Premier League footballers, it’s highly unusual for GAA stars to release a book on their career while they’re still in the limelight of inter-county action.

Darragh Ó Sé, Tomás Ó Sé and Paul Galvin have all, in recent years, signed off on their playing days with best selling books. Could Cooper be the latest?

It is unknown as yet if The Gooch will go the same route as Paul Galvin and pen his own story or if the project will be a collaborative effort.

Cooper made his debut for Kerry all the way back in 2002 making an instant impact on the national scene that saw him win an All-Star in his first season at the age of 19. Winning five All-Irelands and eight All-Stars along the way, he has become one of the most iconic footballers to pull on the green and gold and will certainly have an illustrious story to tell.
