LAST Thursday saw 36 young boys and girls begin their education journey at Gaelscoil Mhic Easmainn but, of course, it was a first day with a difference.

Moms and dads were relieved and delighted to see the new entry system at the school run so smoothly, as they waved their children down the yellow, green and orange paths to their classrooms in a safe socially distanced fashion, where muinteoir awaited via the many hand sanitising stations.

Cáit Uí Chonchuir, Principal at the Gaelscoil said; “Our return to school has been fantastic. Our pupils, families and staff have all embraced the new routines. The 2020 Naíonáin Bheaga were a credit to themselves and their families as they bravely kissed goodbye to their mom or dad at the door, took the new normal in their stride and happily made their way to their classroom.”
