RECOVERY Haven Kerry will be flipping for funds on Tuesday next, February 13, when the cancer support charity hosts a pancake morning at Kirby’s Brogue Inn, Tralee.

Fiona Kirby and her team have joined forces with Recovery Haven to offer free pancakes with every tea or coffee purchased between 10am and 12 noon, with patrons then being invited to make a donation to the charity on the day.

The event is one of a number of fundraisers planned at Recovery Haven in February, and organisers are hoping that the public will pop into The Brogue and support them.

Thanking Fiona and her team at The Brogue for facilitating the event, Recovery Haven’s PR & Marketing Officer, Marisa Reidy, explained that the charity is simply asking patrons to make a donation to the charity on the day.

“Fiona has kindly offered to supply free pancakes with every tea or coffee purchased between 10am and noon, and in return we would be extremely grateful if customers would make a small donation to Recovery Haven,” she said. “Because we rely solely on donations and fundraising events to keep our doors open, the support of the local community to events such as this is vital in helping us continue our work.”

Last year, there were over 2,000 attendances to Recovery Haven’s cancer support centres in Tralee, Killarney and Killorglin  – a record for the charity. In that time, Recovery Haven Kerry provided 414 free counselling sessions to men, women and children, as well as 697 sessions of complementary therapies. Of their client list of over 1,100, a staggering 167 people were new to the service in 2017.
