Cyclists set off on the Jimmy Duffy Memorial Cycle last year.

WHILE we’re only entering the season of mince pies and turkey, many people’s thoughts will be turning to getting into a more healthy mode in the New Year.

Well the perfect start would be hopping on your bike on Saturday, January 7 for the  Jimmy Duffy Memorial Cycle.

The event takes place at 11:00am from St. Pats GAA Club, Blennerville. Jimmy Duffy, who lived in Blennerville all his life, was a fine musician and avid cyclist.

He was 67 years old when he died as a result of smoke inhalation after fire at his home on Church Street, Blennerville, in January 2010.

Over 150 took part in this year’s cycle in fine weather back in January.

The cycle will travel to Castleisland town centre and home followed by deserved refreshments, tea and coffee in the Windmill Bar Blennerville.

All enquiries to Maurice @ (087)2998206 and George @ (087)6814799. This is a fun cycle led by a pace car.
