PEOPLE who work in chain stores around the county are being warned of a scam of which there have been two incidents in Tralee.
What happens is a person buys an item in one store and later goes into another store in the same chain. The person then picks up the same item that they bought in the previous store and goes to the counter, with the receipt, and asks for a refund.
This has happened in two stores in Tralee. Gardaí know who is responsible and are following a definite line of enquiry.
Shop workers are being asked to check the receipts fully to make sure the item was bought in their branch.
