Glenduff House Bought For €465,000 And New Owner Plans 5-Star Hotel For Dingle Town

GLENDUFF House will reopen under a new name and the owner has big plans for another venture in Kerry next year.

The newly refurbished Glenduff Manor formally Glenduff House, located in Kielduff which is five miles from Tralee and overlooked by the Brandon Mountains will re-open tonight, Friday, December 2.

Glenduff House, a Victorian hunting lodge, was recently purchased by Dingle native Michael O’Malley for €465,000. Michael who is one of 15 children,  grew up in the Grove, Dingle and immigrated to Boston 20 years ago and went on to become a successful property developer.

This is just one of two projects that Mr O’Malley is currently working on. Work will begin in early 2017 on a new five star hotel located at the site of Bridge House, John Street, Dingle.

Mr O’Malley says 80 construction jobs will be created from April 2017 and when the new hotel is complete, 50 full time positions will be available to the local community.

On the purchase of Glenduff House, Michael commented; “It gives me great pleasure to be able to return home and create opportunities for the local community. I will reside in Glenduff  Manor which will become a boutique Manor House with accommodation, quality food and traditional entertainment in the bar.”

Glenduff Manor was originally a hunting lodge was built back in 1840 has undergone a transformation in recent weeks and will now create nine new full time jobs.
