IN a lovely gesture on Saturday, the Irish rugby team wore black armbands as a mark of respect for their teammate Ultan Dillane’s mother who died earlier in the week.
The Tralee man and his family are grieving for Ellen Dillane who passed away suddenly on Monday. Ellen was laid to rest on Saturday morning in Tralee.
The Ireland rugby team wore black armbands in their 56-19 victory over Italy at the Aviva Stadium to show solidarity with the Connaught player who, in all likelihood, would have been part of the squad for the match. A respectful and touching gesture from the team to the Tralee man and his family.

He spoke so well about her to us earlier this season. Was a top lady, by all accounts.https://t.co/o8CGPLJKhr— SportsJOE (@SportsJOEdotie) February 10, 2018
