JUST in case you were feeling lonely for weather warnings, Met Eireann solved that problem by issuing a Status Yellow National Wind Warning for Ireland this morning.
It seems the weather warnings have been relentless since December and we’ve yet to see a respite.
Southerly winds of mean speeds in the range 50 to 70km/h with gusts of 80 to 110km/h will sweep the country until 3pm today.
Unfortunately there’s going to be further heavy rain as well as the wind today, but temperatures will rise to between 8 and 11 degrees.
The strong southerly winds will gust to gale force in exposed areas then will ease and veer southwesterly this evening as the rain clears.
There’ll be more heavy rain at times tonight but clearing by morning and temperatures will fall to 3 or 4 degrees.
Not very nice news this morning.
