County League

We have one match left in the county league, where we are at home to Laune Rangers. Date T.B.C.

Coiste Tra li Championship:

The team also has the Coiste Tra Li championship to play in; dates for this should be available after the next meeting of the board which will be held on Wednesday 8th October.

MINORS

The St Brendans minor championship for 2014 will be played in one day, Monday the 27th of October 2014.

We are at home to Churchill @ 12 noon; the winners will play the winners of Na Gaeil/Ardfert in Killeen @ 2.30pm.

SENIOR LADIES

Training continues on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 7pm to 8pm.

Junior B County Championship

We play against Finuge/St. Senans in the County Junior B Championship Final (at home) on Saturday next at 7pm under lights. See the John Mitchels Facebook page for more details.

County League

We played in the final of the county league on Saturday last, despite a gallant effort; the team was beaten by a much stronger Dr. Crokes.

North Kerry League

We play against Finuge/St. Senans in North Kerry league final, Date T.B.C.

U-16 BOYS

The team plays against Ballymac in the final of the town league (Div 3) on Sunday next 12th October at 12 noon, venue to be confirmed.

U-14 BOYS
The team played Ballymac on Sunday last in the final of the Castleisland District league, this match was played in Currow, this was played in atrocious weather conditions, however the boy from John Mitchels stood tough and were victorious on the day with the final score board reading 3-10 to 0-09.

The team and scorers on the day included Dylan O’Shea, Steven Bowler (0-1), Tadgh Broderick, Graham Hudson, Sean Gannon, Ross Sugrue, Padraig White, James O’Connor, Shane McCarthy, Daniel Molloy (0-1), Ryan Ward (0-1), Kevin Williams (0-1), Dylan O’Brien, Michael Kelleher (0-4), Conor O’Brien (1-02)(Capt.), James Sheehan, Darrion Hurley, Craig O’Brien, Donal Dillane, Alex O’Shea (2-0), Padraic Callaghan, Conor Fitzmaurice and Jet Panagsagan.

Well done to the team and to the mentors Diarmuid Cunnane, John Higgins, Dave Leahy, Paul Barden and Seanie Burrows.

On Wednesday evening we play against Ballymac in the final of the Coiste Tra li league in John Mitchels at 7pm, support on the night would be appreciated, this will be the teams sixth final of 2014, being victorious in the previous five, the county league, the Kerry Feile, the St. Brendans league, the Castleisland league and the national Feile.

U-12 LADIES

The team has now finished training and competitions for the 2014 season. The mentors and club would like to thank all of the players and their parents for their support during the year which ended with the girls being crowned North Kerry Division 2 league and the Coiste Tra Li (A) Championship winners.

The ladies were a credit to their families and the club. We will the girls who are moving to the u-14s next year all the best both on and off the field of play. There will be a medal presentation night in the club in a few weeks’ time. All parents will be informed of this date well in advance.

Well done to Caoimhe Leahy, Kerry Oba and Erica O’Connor who were part of the North Kerry team who won the P.J O’Halloran u-11 inter county tournament in Clare last weekend.

UNDER 10 BOYS

The u-9 & u-10 boys teams played challenge matches against Ballydonoghue on Sunday last, these were both fantastic games of football with lots of skill on show form both sides.

Rory Kerins, William Sherin, Ciaran White, Paddy McMahon, Cathal Murphy, Luke O’Sullivan, Brian O’Donnell, Sean Og Brosnan, Conor Kerins, Jack O’Donoghue, Sam Fitzgerald, Ciaran Foran, Sean Corkery, Cian O’Shea, Jack O’Flaherty, Jessie Duggan and Ciaran were the players who lined out in the green and gold.

A big thanks to Ballydonoghue for making the trip, we look forward to the return visit. On Sunday next the team play in the Siobhan Cotter Blitz in Churchill, parents will be informed of times etc via teamer text.

UNDER 8 AND U-10 GIRLS

The u-8 & u-10 ladies played against Milltown/Castlemaine on Sunday last, we had a very good attendance by the Mitchels ladies with over 40 players available on the day, all the players took part in the matches and amazed the coached John, Edward and Tony with the fantastic skills that was on show.

Some of the players to impress were Linda O’Connor, Ailisha Daughton, Dawn McLarnon, Ruth O’Neill, Molly Duggan, Sophie O’Donoghue, Eva Sugrue, Elizabeth Slattery, Jane Lynch, Taylor Rogers and Lily Collins. We travel to Milltown/Castlemaine on Sunday next, parents will be given details of travel arrangements via teamer text.

U 8 BOYS

The u-8 team trained on Sunday last under the expert guidance of James and Diarmaid, the team had a fantastic morning concentrating on the passing and blocking skills of the game. Isaac Jones, Mark O’Connor, Jack O’Donoghue, Killian O’Donnell, Ben Cullinan, Daithi Smullen, Darragh O’Shea, Ted Fitzgerald, Reece Long, Gerard O’Shea and Alex Guardino were some of the players to catch the trainer’s eye. On Sunday next the team play in the Siobhan Cotter Blitz in Churchill, parents will be informed of times etc via teamer text.

UNDER 6
The u-6 boys and girls trained indoors on Sunday last under the watchful eyes of Sean, Tim, Stephen, Susie and Stephen.

This was a very good session with all who attended giving it their all, with some great hand and kick passing skills on show. The players on the day included Eanna Ryle, Jack Noonan, Sophie Moloney, Aaron Fitzpatrick, Luca Cronin, James Moriarty, Leon Healy, Lisa O’Shea, Fionnan Brosnan, Ruari McMahon, Jack Conway, Coaimhe Sugrue, Sean Murphy, Daniel Farmer, Amy Noonan, Thomas Foran-Rumpler, Marie O’Shea, Isobel Corkery, Jack Collins, John Moriarty, Amber Long, Sarah Slattery, Oisin Brosnan, Jack Donovan, Karl Cronin, Ruth Lynch, Michael Duffy, Jack Moriarty-Daly, Edel O’Hara, Grace Conway, Filip Ryhansky, David Cullinan and Rachel McCluskey.

Next Sunday the team play in the Churchill Blitz, parents will be informed of times etc via teamer text.
