SENIOR CO. CHAMPIONSHIP SEMIFINAL

On Sunday November 21st at 2.30p.m. our Senior team take on Dr Crokes in Austin Stack Park, Tralee.

This is a huge occasion for our Club. We are looking for as many of our children, parents and families to come out and support on the day, wearing our club colours  if at all possible.

Many of our senior players and coaches work with our juvenile club so it’s time we give something back by coming on the day and supporting our team.

Get your colours up and show our pride in our Club.

JUVENILE AND LADIES NOTES

This week we have combined the juvenile and ladies notes as we remember a very special lady…a good friend to all in our club  as her 1st anniversary approaches.

Marie Nix, who was taken far too early was the sweetest, kindest lady one could ever meet. She had this mischievous smile and was so full of fun.

Marie Nix , always in our hearts and never forgotten with her U12 Girls

For those of us who were blessed to have known Marie we remember the fun we all had together. Marie was involved with the U8 and U10 Girls initially .Karon Mclysaght, Rory Kerins and Adrian Doody enjoyed many a Saturday morning training with Marie .

A few of these young ladies are now playing minor football. Marie took her football seriously and did each girl know her basic skills! This still shows today in the girls Marie had at U8 and 10.

The girls still have fond memories of Marie’s wonderful fun training sessions and the great times they had. It’s many a place they travelled to in Kerry and Cork… great fun always on the bus and it was great for team bonding. Marie was away ahead of the time with how she trained the girls.

It was all about the girls, they came first. Each girl was treated equally and there was no favouritism. They were ‘my girls’ as Marie called them.

It is because of Marie’s influence that those young ladies are the wonderful players and team that they are today. She was a trainer who truly brought out the best in each one, inspired confidence and we are so glad that many, especially her daughter Katie, have gone on to play at such a high level. Mom must be so proud.

Karon McLysaght, Shirley and Adrian Doody, Paddy Hayes , Rory Kerins and Danny Leane all worked closely with Marie at some stage… every moment each of us spent with Marie is now a memory we can cherish again and again. We were so lucky.

Your brightness will always shine down on us from above Marie. You are our rainbow , always leading to the pot of gold as our ladies club progresses every year. Thank you for sharing your wonderful qualities with so many of us. You still live on in so many of our hearts.

We might not say it or show it but a day doesn’t go by when so many of us remember our beautiful, sweet  Marie.

May we all take a minute to think of Marie and her beautiful family and friends on Saturday, November 20th on her first anniversary. John, Stephen, Katie, Anthony, Ger, John, Marie’s wonderful extended family and dear friends you are all in our thoughts and prayers.

You are forever in our hearts Marie!
