SENIOR NOTES
Credit Union Co. League Rd.5.

Kerins O Rahillys  1-09  Austin Stacks   0-16.

In a very competitive Credit Union Co. League played in Connolly Park in ideal conditions a second half display by Stacks where they had a golden patch in the third quarter was enough to give them a deserved win over a gallant Strand Road side.

We never gave up and could have snatched a draw in the final few minutes when only a goal separated the sides .

Both sides were missing players  but it was Stacks who got off to a great start and led by 6 points to Strand Road’s  1 point at the 15th minute, that point coming from the impressive Barry John Keane .

The second quarter saw Rahillys take over and with Tom Hoare and Con Barrett dominating and with great support play by Seán Brosnan , Ryan Carroll,Karl Mullins and Darragh McElligott we put over five points in succession to level the scores at 6 points each by the 29th minute – three points from Barry John Keane another from Tom Hoare and one from Conor Hayes who had a great game throughout.

This was a golden patch for us and our great inter passing movement saw wing forward Gearóid  Dillane fire a rocket of a shot passed the Stacks keeper to leave us ahead at half time with Rahillys 1-07 to Stacks 0-6.

The first quarter of the second half saw Stacks dominate and they hit a purple patch where they put over a brace of points . We replied with points from Con Barrett , Tom Hoare and Barry John Keane to leave the score at Rahillys 1-09 to Stacks 0-15 and time almost up.

We had a great chance of a goal but the ball was cleared and Stacks put a point over the bar for the insurance point and the whistle blew for full time .

A gutsy display by Strand Road and we never gave up . Shane Foley had a fine  game in goals and others to impress were David Murphy, Seán Collins and Ross O’ Callaghan . Up front, Barry John Keane, Conor Hayes , Aaron Roche, and Paudie Griffin did well.

A minute’s  silence was observed before the game in memory of the late Jackie Power,  Austin Stacks. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam .

MONALEEN VISIT

Massive Thank you to Monaleen U8 Boys from Limerick who travelled down to us bright and early last Saturday, June 8th. Ballyrickard was full of action.
The sun was shining and the blue and white was in full flight.
Our boys did their club colours, themselves and their parents proud.
The football skills on display were a credit to both the children and their dedicated coaches.
As always we showed our hospitality by greeting our guests with refreshments, fresh scones with jam and cream, sandwiches and cakes.
Thanks  to all those who helped out to make the day such a success.
We plan to make a return journey to Monaleen in the Autumn.

U12 BOYS
Our under 12s returned to their winning ways on Sunday with an impressive 5-21 to 1-6 win vs Cromane. The weather held up well for our trip down south and we played some lovely football in the first half scoring 4-8.
Ruairí, Oisin, Jamie and Ryan raising the green flag.

Cromane battled well in the 2nd half and scored a good individual goal.
But a Brendan Meehan goal and 13 points saw us run out as winners.
Ruairí Kennedy was ecxellent in both attack and defence with Jamie McCarthy taking a break from the full forward line to pull the strings in midfield.
Oisin Cronin led the charge in the first half before dropping into goals in the second.
Brayden Pierce played a captain’s role as usual.
Brendan Meehan ended the day as man of the match with 1-1 from half back.
